Knowledge is power! With knowledge you are able to enter into the journey of optimal health by making necessary lifestyle changes.
In this program you will read informative health and nutrition articles and books from the great pioneers of the past like Weston A. Price and present to reprogram your mind, so to speak. Just like a computer needs to be programmed to function properly we need the correct information so we can aid our body to function optimally, as well.
You will gain understanding and implement this knowledge into your own life. You will begin to avoid foods and doing things that are devoid of nutrients or that can do you harm. By doing this, you will begin to feel better physically so you are able to enter into the journey of optimal health.
This program is grounded in the belief that health is based on a foundational whole food approach to nutrition. If you give your body the proper fuel mixture that it needs your body is designed to heal itself.
SLEEP
Sleep is key to our health and healing. Sleep gives our bodies and minds time to restore and renew, a time to shed toxins through the breath and skin and resolve worries through dreaming. It refreshes us like nothing else. It can be occasionally elusive, almost always comforting, and definitely essential to our survival. And although we spend 33% of our lives asleep, we barely give it a moment’s notice.
MONITORING YOUR HEALTH
Checking your weight, blood cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure is a good indicator to locate where your health is. You will learn how to test these four areas of your body on a regular basis.
FOODS
Good health begins with plants and animals raised in healthy ways; and with meat, eggs, milk products, fish, grain, legumes, fruits and vegetables that are packaged and processed so that the vitamins and minerals in the foods are preserved or enhanced.
You will learn where to purchase and implement the following whole foods into your diet:
VITAMINS AND SUPPLEMENTS
Modern farming methods utilize frequent crop rotations in order to maximize productivity. As a result, however, vital nutrients and especially minerals in the soil are rapidly depleted.
It can be almost impossible to achieve the diverse and vital nutrients that your body requires just in what you eat day to day.
Your body requires certain daily essential fatty acids that it can not create by itself. Unless you are taking the proper amounts of omega 3, EPA/DHA, and omega 6 oils daily your body is in constant need.
You will learn about the proper vitamins and supplements for your own individual needs to help your body function in optimal health. You will also, learn what to look for in a vitamin and supplement for superior quality as well as what to seek for in the companies who manufacturer them.

STRESS
Stress begins in the brain, with a surge of hormones causing intense alertness. In this hyped state, we cannot relax or sleep. But our minds cannot function at this extreme level for prolonged periods: Eventually the hormone surges and exhaustion cause tension headaches, irritability, aggression, inability to concentrate and memory loss. Unchecked stress can also trigger depression, which strikes twice as many women as men. Stress suppresses the hypothalamus, the emotion control center in our brains, curbing the production of the hormones that energize us and make us feel well.
Extreme and constant stress lowers our white blood cell count, making us more susceptible to disease and hampering our body’s ability to heal itself.
ENVIRONMENT
A healthy environment is vital to having optimal health!
Environmental health comprises those aspects of human health, disease, and injury that are determined or influenced by factors in the environment. This includes not only the effects of various chemical, physical, and biological agents, but also the effects on the physical health and social environment, which includes housing, urban development, land-use and transportation, industry, and agriculture.
You will make some lifestyle changes to the environment that you live in so your body can be in optimal health.
SPIRITUAL WALK
The most important stage in your journey to optimal health is to invite your Higher Power into your life to help you through your healing process. Who can better help you then the one who created you? Just as we need food for our physical body we also, need food for our spiritual body.
He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
You will make a decision regarding your spiritual walk so your body can be in optimal health.
At this point you will have just journeyed through three programs towards optimal health. If you have followed the three programs faithfully, when you reach this stage you will feel better physically, mentally, emotionally, educationally and spiritually. When you reach the end of your journey, you will be walking in optimal health!
